Julie is a fully certified Body Control Pilates teacher with nearly 10 years of teaching experience, specialising in personalised pilates and movement for clients in midlife.
Julie offers private 1:1 and 1:2 pilates sessions, using the full range of studio equipment, including the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel and Mat. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re managing persistent hip or back pain, rebuilding strength after injury, returning to exercise or wanting to move with greater ease and confidence.
Julie has a particular interest in hip and back pain during perimenopause and menopause, when hormonal changes can coincide with changes in muscle strength, joint health, recovery and physical confidence. This interest is informed not only by her professional training, but also by her own experience of gluteal and proximal hamstring tendinopathy, which significantly affected how she moved and led her to rethink her relationship with exercise. She also supported her mum through two total hip replacements and recovery from colerectal cancer. With specialist training in pilates for lower back and hip pain, alongside further study in anatomy, fascia, bone health and peri-to-post menopause education, Julie takes a thoughtful, individual approach to movement. She combines an understanding of the body with carefully tailored pilates to help clients better understand their movement needs, rebuild strength and mobility, and find a more confident, sustainable way to move.
Whether you’re navigating midlife changes, living with hip or back pain, or looking for a more individual approach to pilates and strength, Julie offers a supportive space to move well and build a foundation for long-term physical health.
